About Nancy

Nancy Jill Sundberg
Writer - Teacher

In her early childhood, Nancy was exposed to many Spiritual masters from whom she received Blessings along side her mother, Ngeton. These included Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche, His Holiness the 16th Karmapa and Muktananda who gave her the spiritual name Ananda, which means Joy (Bliss). In her adult years, she received Darshan from Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. Nancy was very fortunate to receive Darshan, Teachings, and Transmission from Jean Dunn, Ngeton’s Guru. During Ngeton’s teaching years, Nancy, along with Ngeton, met Ranjit Maharaj, an honored teacher and disciple of Sri Siddharameshwar Maharaj.

Nancy had spent the majority of her youth and early adulthood in the performing arts. She lived in New York City where she studied acting and honed her skills in Stand Up Comedy. She is also a trained dancer. Nancy has taught and worked with youth and adults through her “Stand Up Express” program to facilitate self expression and clear communication through the art of comedy, spoken word performance and presentations.

In 2008 Nancy began to explore and cultivate a movement meditation practice which became a gateway to spiritual revelation, joy and inspiration. She also practices the Guang Ping Yang form of Tai Chi, which was taught to her by Ngeton. Ngeton’s Tai Chi Master was Y.C. Chiang. Nancy has practiced the basic exercises that precede the form for over 20 years and has taught them in retreat settings with Ngeton. The basics are a series of movements and stretches that open the meridian (energy system) in the body.

In the late 90s, while living in NYC, Nancy’s older brother Randy was killed by a hit and run driver in Maui. This was the catalyst for a change in her life direction. She returned to Maui where she spent the next 20 years with her mother, Ngeton. Ngeton had been designated by Jean Dunn to carry on the teachings in the Spiritual Lineage of the Navnath Sampradaya. Nancy was immersed in teachings, contemplation, meditation practice, and service. Ngeton’s transmission of Love, Wisdom and Compassion along with Nancy’s heartfelt devotion, dedication and unwavering trust is the basis of her transformation and freedom.

In 2017, Ngeton designated Nancy to carry on the teachings in the Spiritual Lineage of The Navnath Sampradaya. Ngeton left her body in January of 2019. Nancy began teaching later that year. Along with sharing Wisdom teachings, Nancy also writes and speaks on the subject of awakening true communication through self awareness, clarity and compassion.
